The boat was towed up to Yorktown, VA and the main cabin and superstructure was completed in August 1982 and continually improved on until present day.
All WOOD construction- note stern and fly bridge (both rounded)- no square or sharp corners on this boat.
Over the years-
Completed two round trips to Marathon Key in Florida Keys with trips across Florida through the Okeechobee waterway to St. Petersburg, FL.
Approximately 14 Trips to Cape Hatteras for offshore fishing
Many trips off the Virginia Coast to the Continental Shelf for fishing.
Has caught many species of fish including White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo and other ocean species.
Fished the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries extensively. Has also made trips to Solomons Island, MD, Oxford, MD St. Michaels, MD Crisfield, Md Pocomoke City, MD Smith Island, MD Tangier Island, VA and many other lower Bay destinations.
Has been to Chincoteague twice-once to tow back a 90 foot steel barge to Yorktown, VA
Has rescued a 38' Sailboat with 5 people on board that was severely grounded on the Eastern Shore of VA with heavy seas and wind. The EAGLE was almost lost in this rescue.
The Eagle has taken out patients with Spinal Cord injuries from VA Veterans Hospital in Hampton, VA on fishing trips. (Twice a summer for over 10 years).
Has entered the Yorktown Lighted Boat Parade in December of 1998 and 1999. The boat won both times it entered.
Had the Honor of taking the Lord Mayor and associates of Zweibrucken Germany on an exclusive afternoon cruise on the York River.
Name Inspiration- The owner purchased the boat just about the same time of the Bi- Centennial Celebration- 200 years since the Victory at Yorktown (1781-1981). Therefore, he wanted to name the boat to celebrate and commemorate our Freedom and the EAGLE was a symbol of that.
