Walk Around

At first glance “Gin Joint” is the offshore fisherman’s dream boat with all the options you might want to just get aboard and go out to the Gulf Stream or just find your ideal fishing spot. When this boat was built, with the solid fiberglass hull, the design, and performance of the off-shore fishing boats have not improved significantly and remains popular. “The bones are good”. With the new 2020 Yamaha Engines hanging off the transom with covers to keep the sun off the 4 blade stainless props sparkle. There is a bracket on the starboard side for a single post swim ladder and a hand hold to help the swimmer get aboard. On port there is a shore power plug in socket with a cover to keep the rain out. Along the back of the cockpit is a large fish box with 2 opening hatches that extends to starboard to the gateway to the swim platform and engine area. On centerline there is a tall proud flagstaff for the ensign and on starboard is a cockpit pull out shower head. There are 2 rod holders on Starboard and 2 on port. There are 8 rod holders attached to the frame of the hard top and 4 rod holders along the back rest of the helm station (with 3 cup holders).

In the floor of the cockpit, there‘s a fish tank on starboard and a fish tank to port. On centerline is an access port to the fuel tank. Under the bolsters on both sides are racks for the boat hooks, mops, rods, and other miscellaneous long gear. There are also 2 aft speakers for the stereo. On the back of the helm station is a tackle box area cabinet under a stainless hand hold with foot brace underneath.

Moving forward on starboard there is another fish box, an access door panel to the area under the helm station , an access panel to under the forward facing seat, and a single faucet sink. There’s also a forward speaker.

The helm seat is designed to be comfortable to stand and lean against or easily slip up and sit on. There's a foot rest built into the console and a fold up/ drop-down foot rest on the helm seat frame. The helm itself is a stainless wheel with a monkey fist. Raymarine electronics for the GPS/Chartplotter/radar, VHF, and Auto Pilot. The fusion radio control is also at the helm. There’s a cigarette lighter style plug and a double USB plug for charging phones and other electronics. Trim tabs and a windlass control. On the starboard side of the helm is the Yamaha dual handle shift and throttle controls. At the center of the helm station is the readout of the Yamaha engines. Overhead there’s a helm station light and a storage box for miscellaneous gear. Also overhead are 2 storage bags currently used for charts and life jackets. All the helm area is underneath the hard top which is surrounded by Strata Glass with black canvas trim and zippers/ snaps for easy opening, closing, removal or reinstalling. The visibility is 360 degrees from the helm or the sitting area in front of the helm station. The sitting area is an “L” settee with very clean (newer) cushion and there is a storage locker under the port side. of the "L" settee. Access to the Batteries is on the port side opposite the "L" settee through a locker door.

Moving down below through the companionway are 3 steps which when unlocked from the track can slide up to provide access to the guest cabin double bunk. On the starboard side of the companionway is a battery monitor, a “SkyMate Emergency" locator device, another USB port, the Fusion control center, a Norcold refrigerator, and the ship’s electrical panel. Moving forward on starboard is the air conditioning control and the galley. The galley consists of a single sink and faucet, a single burner stove, cabinets, and a shelf under the starboard port. Under the counter top are 3.5 drawers for galley gear and a storage cabinet. Overhead is an 18” round port for additional light and ventilation. Head room is about 6’ 1”. On starboard there’s a reading light, fan, stereo speaker and forward there’s the anchor locker and another set of 12 volt outlet and usb port. The bunk is offset and diagonal to allow for 6’ sleeping space. On port you have another fan, reading light and overhead opening round hatch. The ship’s clock also hangs on the wall. The door to the head is rounded and the head includes an electric flush, small sink with pull out shower head, counter top light, shelf, 110 outlet, towel rack, and small locker under the sink.

Tuna Tower and Foredeck

When the current owner bought the boat, he had the Tuna tower cut off so it could be trucked to Maryland. It was re-installed to allow it to be easily removed with electrical connections at the connecting points for quick connect or disconnect. There also could be additional electronics added or even another helm and engine controls.

Currently the accessories up there are a Horizon Eclipse VHF, a Compass, and a set of 12 volt and USB ports. The Bimini top overhead is dark Navy Blue.

The fore deck is low profile for maximum visibility. There are 2 round hatches to the forward cabin, 2 cleats and chocks for dock lines and a windlass. The bow rail extends all the way back to the helm station. Off the bow pulpit hangs a FX-16 Fortress anchor. Finally, all the way forward is a burgee post for flying your choice of burgee.
